Välkomna till Anneke & Frédéric

Frédéric and Anneke have a special connection to their new home in Torpa, which was once a school and recently a home for the artist Eva Boström and her husband. Their love for each other and the house has inspired them to not only view it as their own home but also as a place to share with the community.

After a warm welcome from the neighbors, they decided to keep the Torpa Café open not only in the summer but also during Christmas and Easter for lunch and fika.

Inspiration
 
The Lasso collection draws on the tranquil beauty of Sommen: its glassy surface at dawn, the soft sweep of shoreline grasses, and the subtle shimmer of light on water. Each piece is designed to capture that sense of movement and reflection, translating it into contemporary jewelry that feels both timeless and of-the-moment.
 
Materials and craft
 
Every item in the Lasso line is handmade with attention to detail and a commitment to sustainable practices. Sanne embraces ethically sourced metals and complementary stones to evoke the natural palette of Sommen: cool blues, soft greens, and earthy neutrals.
The technique blends traditional jewelry making with modern forms, resulting in pieces that are versatile for everyday wear and special occasions alike.
The collection
 
The Lasso collection features a range of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings that celebrate kinetic form and subtle asymmetry. Each piece is designed to catch the light and move with the wearer, just as water moves across the lake’s surface.
 
Availability
 
The Lasso collection is available for purchase at our café. Visitors can view the line in person, try on select pieces, and speak with our staff about the inspiration and craftsmanship behind Sanne’s designs.

So many memories connect this old school with the community. What remains are photographs, and we wanted to change that so in the summer of 2024 we invited the former schoolchildren for Fika.

Torpa Café & Gallery is located about 17 km south of Tranås and about 19 km north of Österbymo.

There is plenty of parking.

It is of course possible to take the boat here on Lake Sommen.
Go into Torpa bay towards Torpa steamboat jetty.
